Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto the Ancient of Days
A doxological hymn addressed to the Ancient of Days and the Lamb, drawn from the heavenly visions of Daniel and Revelation. The refrain accumulates the ascription of blessing, honor, glory, and power that the heavenly hosts offer to God.
History & Background
Written by Horatius Bonar (1808-1889), a prolific Scottish hymn writer, in 1866. Based on Daniel 7:9 and Revelation 5:13.
