Come now, O Prince of Peace, make us one body
A Korean hymn of prayer for peace and reconciliation, written in the context of the division of Korea. The three stanzas pray for unity, reconciliation, and peace between enemies. The hymn has become a universal prayer for peace.
History & Background
Written by Geon-yong Lee (b.1947), a South Korean Methodist minister, in 1988 during a period of intense prayer for Korean reunification. Translated into English by Marion Pope. One of the most significant hymns from the global south.
