Ernst Christoph Homburg (1605–1681) was a German Reformed pastor and prolific hymn writer who flourished during the tumultuous Thirty Years' War. Active primarily in the Palatinate and later in Erlangen, he composed deeply meditative and theologically sophisticated hymns that reflected Reformed Protestant piety and addressed the spiritual struggles of his war-torn era.
