Georgia Harkness (1891-1974) was a pioneering Methodist theologian, educator, and hymnodist who became one of the first women to hold major teaching positions in American theological seminaries. She authored numerous hymn texts that reflected her commitment to social justice, ecumenical dialogue, and contemporary Christian witness, blending theological depth with accessibility. Harkness taught at Drew University and the Pacific School of Religion, where she influenced generations of ministers and theological students.
