Lina Sandell Berg

Lina Sandell Berg (1823-1891) was a Swedish hymn writer and one of the most prolific composers of Swedish church music, with approximately 650 hymns attributed to her. Deeply influenced by Swedish Pietism and the revival movements of her era, she became known for her emotionally expressive and theologically sound hymn texts that resonated with ordinary believers. Her hymns were characterized by personal faith, accessibility, and poetic beauty, making her work foundational to Swedish Lutheran worship.
