John Chandler (1837–unknown) was an English clergyman and hymn translator of the Victorian era. He is best known for his translations of Latin hymns into English, contributing significantly to the Anglo-Catholic revival's expansion of the hymnal repertoire. Chandler's translations made ancient ecclesiastical texts accessible to English congregations and influenced the development of Victorian hymnody. His work represented the 19th-century scholarly movement to recover and Anglicize classical Christian liturgical poetry for contemporary worship.
